Dublin Castle
Dublin Castle sits in the Heart of Historic Dublin. Soaked in a history of Fire, War, Rebellion, The Castle today stands as a momument to Irish Histroy. Originally a Viking military base built around 930. The vikings ruled until they were defeated by King Brian Boru in 1014. The castle has undergone a multitude of changes and rebuilds by numerous rulers since the vikings, including the Normans and a number of Kings of England. Dublin Castle has been involved in every major historic event Ireland has ever experienced including the Easter 1916 Rebellion. There is a lot to see and do, including The State Apartment, The Chapel Royal, The Undercroft, The Garda (Police) Museum & The Chester Beatty Library.The Chester Beatty Library features the Silk Road Cafe & In the Lower Castle Yard beside The Dublin Castyle Gift Shop, you will find the Excellant Castle Vaults Bistro.
