Aiming to promote ecological awareness and sustainable living, Sonairte is Ireland's premier environmental visitor centre. See ecology in action in the 2 acre organic garden, vegetarian coffee shop, nature trail, energy exhibitions and ecologically reconstructed buildings.Sonairte was established in the late 1980's and offers practical advice to help people make environmentally sound changes to their lifestyles and houses. We tour and give lectures about the beauty and fragility of nature and living an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Our site covers seven acres on the banks of the River Nanny and our buildings are constructed according to our green philosophy.
