Considered one the the best-kept 18th Century Houses in Ulster surrounded by breathtaking views and parklands. The house, formerly the home of the Cole family, Earls of Enniskillen was badly damaged by fire in 1955 and much of what you see today is the result of meticulous restoration.Set amid the Cuilcagh Mountains, its white stone facade stands in striking contrast to the verdant green of the forests. The interior contains exquisite rococo plasterwork, fine furniture, and the atmospheric basement offers a rich insight into the servants world of 'upstairs downstairs'.Outside, the mansion is enhanced by gardens and parkland, the surrounding hills and forest of west Fermanagh offer the visitor a place to relax and explore in peaceful natural surrondings and enjoy the clean Irish air.The Florence Court Gardens are filled with a variety of semi-tropical and temperate climate plants. The grounds contain a park dotted with rare trees, such as the weeping beach. Irish Folklore says that the grounds are occupied by 'little people'. The Irish yew tree located on the lawn is said to be the source of all other yew trees that grow in Ireland. There is also a summer house, ice house and a sawmill. The Larganess River flows through the grounds.Visitor facilites include: Guided tours, country walks, children's playground and picnic area.
