Newmill Corn and flax Mill is one of the few monuments of industrial archaeology in state care in the Republic. Of the buildings in the complex, the oldest is said be be 400 years old. As a whole, the complex stands a reminder of a stage in Ireland's industrial development, which is now redundant due to the ever evolving, but in many senses less fascinating technology which has taken over.
