Delamont Country Park
On stunning beautiful Strangford Lough, amidst rolling countryside, Delamont offers you the chance to get away from it all in tranquil, rural surroundings. The parks relaxing atmosphere makes it a place to dream and settle into the slow rhythm of the countryside. Marvel at the wonder of the Strangford Stone, a 10 metres high megalith, erected using the muscle power of 1000 young people - not an easy task when you consider that it weighs 25 tonnes! Quarried from Mourne granite, Strangford Stone is a fitting monument to mark the millennium. Under the tunnel, round the track, youll love it so much youll always be back - the Delamont Miniature Railway opened summer 1999 and has proved to be a big hit with the visitors. At 1 kilometre long, this colourful railway delights old and young alike as it travels around the outskirts of the meadow.
