Dublin Marathon
The Dublin Marathon is held every year in late October. This year's marathon is taking place on Monday October 27, 2008. he course of the Adidas Dublin Marathon is a classic city loop with start and finish lines in the city centre with a couple of climbs along the way. All runners receive a medal and a certificate and the winner gets €15,000. The Dublin Marathon is known as the Friendly Marathon because of the amount of people who line the route to shout encouragement. The marathon starts in Fitzwilliam Square and ends in Merrion Square West, taking in parts of Georgian Dublin, the Phoenix Park and large parts of the suburbs. Runners and walkers are welcome.
