Cork Arts Theatre
This purpose-built, intimate venue comes with 100 seater auditorium, fully equipped dressing rooms, rehearsal space and public bar - all on ground floor level and fully accessible for wheelchairs. Cork Arts Theatre offers workshops to new writers. It also runs an annual Playwright's Competition, the only one in Ireland where playwrights can see their work performed on stage. To date (since 1981) over 700 new plays have been submitted and over 140 performed. Cork Arts Theatre also arranges for the publication of a number of them.
