  • I have been dancing with kim lyons for fourteen years now and i would most definitely reccommend her classes. I disagree with some of the parents that say she is never there, she rarely misses the classes but everyone is entitled to miss a day here and there. The girl that is helping kim is training to become a teacher and thats why she does the classes. Kim also DOES prepare her students for exams and i know this because i have done my exams up to grade 5. Kim also does shows so that her students get the experience of a proper performane. All in all i would say that anyone looking to take up ballet should enroll with her.

  • As a parent of a child who has attended the last two terms of Kim Lyons ballet school in Donaghmede, I will not be re-enrolling. I can safely say that Ms Lyons rarely attends the classes, and on the occasion she is there, tends to focus on 3-4 children, out of a class of approx 20. To put it in to figures, I would estimate Ms Lyons attends 3 out of every 10 classes. My child tells me they spend more time stretching that learning anything. And while Im sure stretching saves on injury, I did sign my child up for ballet...not stretching. Ms Lyons does have an assistant (young girl about 15-17 years old), who "teaches" the children the majority of the time, obviously so as Ms Lyons absence is regular. Just to note, I have nothing personal against the lady in question, as she has been quite a pleasant person when we spoke. I will be looking for a new ballet school. What a shame for both my child and Ms Lyons. I have talked with several parent who also concur with the above.

  • After a good many yearrs of going to Kims ballet school in Lucan I would strongly advise against enrolling here. She does not prepare any students for exams which is useless if you wish to persue a career as a ballet dancer or teacher. When I left the ballet after 8 years not 1 phonecall was made to ask if I was ok or if I would consider coming back which goes to prove that all Kim Lyons is interested in is the money. NOT the art of dance.

    • strongly against.
