Doolin Cave, discovered in 1952, is home to the great stalactite, measuring 6.54m ( 20feet ) - the longest stalactite in the northern hemishpere and is set to become one of the most important eco - tourism attractions in Ireland. Because of the delicate and fragile nature of the cave atmosphere, visitor numbers are strictly limited. For your safety and comfort: There are approx. 120 steps down to the cave, so visitors are asked to take their time. Wear outdoor shoes and clothing.
