Lough Ree Sub Aqua Club
The Lough Ree Sub Aqua Club was formed in 1983 in order to promote sports diving and to partake in search and rescue missions, also to recover persons missing from lakes and rivers in the Midlands and west. Our Club came into being with the help of Athlone Sub Aqua Club back in to nineteen eighties. Over the past twenty five years and because of our location, the club has assisted in many body recoveries and also assisted boating people on the shannon out of life and death situations. Today we have up to thirty five members and about fifeteen members on 24 hour call out. In the last 3 to 4 years our club has became the best equiped club in Ireland North or South.
