Duckett's Grove Walled Gardens & Pleasure Grounds
Duckett's Grove Carlow is the old ancestral home of the Duckett Family and was a unique Georgian building containing towers and turrets, formely part of a 12,000 acre estate which was taken over by Carlow County Council in 2005 to be used a a public park. Immersed and part of local history for over 200 years, the estate house was used as a training camp in the early 1920s by the Irish Republican Army (IRA). A collection of owners, including local firms, ran operations from the estate until it was take over by the County Council in 2005.
