Welcome to Loughcrew

 

Loughcrew Adventure Centre is located in Oldcastle, Co Meath and provides outdoor adventure based activities for Groups. Check out the NEW GI Jane Hen Parties now being offered at the Centre - champagne on arrival, then don some military gear and enjoy some great craic and fun with the girls.

 

 

For Families or just a leisurely day out, why not stroll around Loughcrew Historic Gardens, 17th and 19th century gardens with an Alice in Wonderland permanent exhibition, go on the 4 km walk to Lough Creeve, visit the fairy garden and other hidden surprises. The gardens are also the home to St. Oliver Plunkett's family church. And after, why not relax in Loughcrew Pavillion Café.

 

 

 

Loughcrew is situated in a magical valley and lies at the foot of the Loughcrew Megalithic Cairns, Ireland largest network of Megalithic passage tombs. More than 6,000 years old, they are older than Newgrange and from the very top, one can see over one third of Ireland! The key to the cairns is available from the coffee shop. 

 

 

 

Night approaches... Why not book into Loughcrew House. Loughcrew House offers luxury accommodation in a magnificent landscape, enjoy the privacy and freedom of Loughcrew. The house sleep s17 and can be rented per room or in its entirety. Its perfect for parties, for family reunions; for whatever you choose!  

 

Directions: M3 from Dublin to Kells then Oldcastle road straight to Loughcrew, going past the Oldcastle turning.

Cairns

 

             
 

Loughcrew lies at the foot of the Loughcrew Megalithic Cairns. They are the largest network of Megalithic passage tombs in Ireland, are 6,000 years older (older even than Newgrange) and one can see more than one third of Ireland from the top (on a clear day!)
